A visual homage to James Connolly, the socialist, trade unionist, and revolutionary leader in Ireland. Born in Scotland in 1868 to Irish parents, he became a champion of workers’ rights and Irish independence. Connolly co-founded the Irish Citizen Army and played a leading role in the 1916 Easter Rising. As one of the signatories of the Proclamation, he was severely wounded during the rebellion and executed by the British. Connolly remains a symbol of courage, labor activism, and the fight for a free Ireland.
