The Fenian Rising of 1867 was a failed Irish republican rebellion against British rule. Organized by the Fenian Brotherhood, it aimed to establish an independent Irish Republic. Despite simultaneous uprisings in several locations, poor coordination and British intelligence infiltrations led to its quick suppression. Many Fenians were arrested, and the uprising's impact was limited. Nevertheless, it fueled nationalist sentiments and laid the groundwork for future Irish independence movements, contributing to the evolving landscape of Irish politics.
