Our digital recreation based on archival photos of actual posters used on the front lines of WW2. "Front Line 500 Yards Ahead. Dismount and Fight." was a terse order seen on road signs during World War II. Intended for troops on the move, it emphasized the proximity of the front line and the need for soldiers to disembark from vehicles and engage in combat. Reflecting the fluid nature of warfare during the conflict, such signs served as practical reminders for military units to be prepared for immediate action as they navigated through dynamic and unpredictable battlegrounds.
