A vintage style map digitally remastered. Inspired by the original of 1889, it illustrates the areas of die-off and the systematic extermination of bison herds from 1735 up to 1889. The bison population was estimated at 60 million in the late 18th century - by 1889 the majestic species was down to 541 animals.
