The Ford 3-Ton M1918, an American light tank developed during World War I, showcased innovative engineering. Based on the French Renault FT, it featured a rear-mounted engine and a distinctive hull design. Despite entering production late in the war, it became the first tank manufactured in significant numbers by the United States. With its lightweight and compact size, the Ford 3-Ton contributed to the evolution of tank tactics and laid the groundwork for future developments in armored warfare technology.
